ASSEMBLY PROGRAM OPTIONS:

Magic Shows for School Celebrations

“Reading Is Magic”

• Motivates your students to read
• Designed to work with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
  
  Old-Time Traveling Medicine Show

• Ideal for North Carolina History students (including 8th graders)

ALSO OFFERING:

Clinics and Residencies
for intersession and
after-school programs

• Students learn magic and the art of performing

SHOW NOTES :

• 35-45 minute shows
• Floor level or on stage
• One class or your entire school
• 30 minute setup, 30 minute breakdown
• Your sound system will be used for larger shows
• Study guides are provided for "Reading Is Magic" and the Traveling Medicine Show

CLINIC NOTES :

• Two hours, half a day, all day — it's your choice!
• Students should be seated at a desk or table
• Students will learn one, two or several
  simple magic tricks, and discover how to learn more
• We also discuss character traits that help us learn, such as patience and perseverance

RESIDENCY NOTES :

• 4-5 days in length
• Shows and clinics may be combined

• 8 years with Fayetteville/Cumberland County Arts In Education
• After school programming, including Charlotte/Mecklenburg, Cabarrus County, and Durham County
• School shows for public and private schools in many other counties, including Anson, Forsyth, Iredell, Randolph, Rowan, Stanly, and Wake
• 10 years with Very Special Arts Festival in Ashe CountyMultiple programs with each of the following: North Carolina Museum of History, Reed Gold Mine State Historic Site, Gateway Museum, Duke Homestead State Historic Site, and Museum of the Cape Fear
• Children’s programming with the Fayetteville Symphony and Greensboro Philharmonia
• 14 years working special events at the North Carolina Zoo
